A Facebook friend yesterday asked if I had ever written on the subject of Romans 13, which speaks of how Christians should view government. I offer today a blog I wrote in 2015 about that. We naturally focus on the obedience Christians owe to government, but the passage also clearly points out government’s responsibility to carry out the mandate God gave it.
Too often, I believe we have a tendency to turn government into an idol and we assume whoever is in charge of the government is God’s choice. I disagree with both propositions; this blog post explains why. My comments come from 2015 and apply to all government and its leaders, so nothing written here is directed to one person in particular.
