Movers & Shakers in DC

That surprise earthquake with the epicenter in the middle of Virginia unsettled people all along the east coast. It wasn’t that far from Washington, DC, so it really shook people there too [yes, I know that was a terrible pun]. Members of Congress were particularly concerned:

No one in DC wants to see all their finely crafted plans come tumbling down:

I wouldn’t be surprised if President Obama had a few seconds of consternation when he heard the number:

There have been a couple of good jokes that have emanated from this event. In case you haven’t heard them, let me get you up to speed.

  1. The administration immediately declared that the cause of the earthquake was the “Bush fault.” [It’s hard to break an old habit.]
  2. This earthquake was the result of all the Founding Fathers turning over in their graves.

Even if you’ve already heard these, they’re worth repeating.
