She's had her second chemo treatment. Had a few rough days afterward but has rebounded. Next treatment is this coming Monday. She'll be on these treatments until surgery, which will probably be in October. I appreciate your concern and your prayers.

I can support either. The key is whether a candidate can solidfy the party while at the same time draw independents. That's where I think Huckabee had a strength. I like Bachmann a lot, but am unsure of her appeal outside the conservative/Tea Party movement. Pawlenty showed more animation in the debate than I'd ever seen before from him. He's definitely worth a look.

What do you think about Michele Bachmann? She's from Minnesota and a strong believer and willing to stand up to the Republican establishment. She is my personal choice.

What do you think about Tim Pawlenty? Another Minnesotan, where I am from. He is a little more willing to compromise, but still a believer.

I believe we can find one, but the question is whether that person either will run for the office or win the nomination. When a Trump candidacy gets serious consideration, we are on the verge of lunacy. I am trusting, though, that most Republicans will awaken to that fact.

I guess I am really getting cynical [ok, I'm long past getting there]. I'm not sure we could find too many candidates that seriously would agree to one of those, let alone all four.

That must be a very new book on Webster, as I've not heard of it until now. Something else for me to check out. Thanks.

I hadn't seen this one out there. I'll have to pick it up to read and will be looking forward to yours to come.

By the way, have you seen/read the fairly new book on Noah Webster by Joshua Kendall? Just saw it and wondered if you had thots on it if you had read it.

I have a solution to the debt problem of the United States. If we take in about 2.2 trillion in revenues, then cut spending to 1 trillion, and use the 1.2 trillion to start paying back the debt. At a rate of 1.2 trillion a year, it should take us 11-12 years to pay back everything. Then we can all breathe easier. Of course that has about as much chance of passing as me being elected Miss America, but at least I tried.
