What most people don&#039;t know is that Chambers warned conservatives to stay away from McCarthy because he didn&#039;t really know what he was doing. Chambers was the one with the insight; McCarthy was primarily a politician who sought position and power. He may have been sincere about wanting to unearth communists in the government, but Chambers realized quickly that he was easily befuddled and outclassed intellectually by those he was seeking to oust.]]></description>
